GAME BIRD OPERATIONS
Game developed for the Master’s Thesis.
Its main goal was to create a “Serious game” that could help children train arithmetic operations of mathematics in a fun way.
Pixar’s “For the Birds” animation was used as the graphic theme for the game.
In the game, the player will have to: keeping the bird within the vertical limits of the scenario, and deviating from the predators that arise, do the arithmetic operations that are presented to him. This only has three lives, and it loses a life when an operation fails. This gameplay mechanic works as a multiple choice, and forces players to stay focused while developing their arithmetic skills and reasoning speed.
Being a game for children has also created a system of rewards (coins) that will serve to customize the character.
The game features several levels, only unlockable when successfully completed the previous level, and the difficulty increases as the player progresses, both in order of magnitude of the numbers, type of operations and speed of play.
The levels are arranged in four medals, having three levels in each, and each medal being associated with a habitat of the planet Earth and its predators.
All the study and work done for the development of the game can be found in my Master Thesis:
Here you can download the game to test on your Windows computer.
